All OU Students Make It to Ireland Safe & Sound!

Well it’s official!  All 14 students, 1 professor, and 1 TA made it safe and sound to Letterkenny.  Our new homes are located within easy walking distance to seemingly every type of shop we could need or desire.   You can also be sure that we will not starve or go thirsty.   Oodles of restaurants and pubs fill our quaint little town.

An interesting and informative orientation session took place today at the Regional Cultural Center (RCC).  The Earagail Arts Festival takes place July 9-24 and we will be actively involved as volunteers.  It sounds like a great time is ahead of us.  Two weeks of inspired music, theater, film, art, and literature shall occur throughout county Donegal with Letterkenny being a hub for the activity.  Students will help at both the RCC and at the various festival events…from the street parade extravaganza to the seaside evening sand sculpture experience.  Multiple performances by both local and international artists take place every day for two weeks.

Tomorrow begins our first day of actual class…here’s hoping we all get over the jet lag soon! Cheers to a great start to the program!
